"Obama Signs New Job-Training Law"
Concerned with America’s workforce and the “skills gap” present in today’s industry, President Obama signed a bipartisan bill hoping to “expand opportunity” for more workers by ensuring they have “access to the training and skills they need” (2014) to compete in the work force, reported Joachim. The federal job training program will provide money to cities and states for retraining workers who are looking for work or who are looking for better work to earn a higher income (Joachim, 2014).
- The source is reliable information. It tells the reader that training workers is an important issue, and so important, that the government is involved. Training is such an issue that policies and laws are being set in order to improve the economy and human rights.
- This source proves that training workers is an important social issue in concern today. The article helps shape my argument because it speaks of laws set concerning training and the role of the government in improving the quality of America's workers. I can use this article while addressing what is being done to improve the training issues in America.
