"Chapter 8: Training and Development"
Dedicating an entire chapter to an important social issue in Human Resource Management (HRM) today, Dias defines employee training and development as "the process of helping employees develop their personal and organization skills, knowledge, and abilities"(2011). The book contends that "41 percent of employees at companies with poor training planned to leave within the year" (Dias, 2011). Describing its benefits, Dias illustrates how companies can design a training program, explaining the various topics, types, and delivery methods for training employees.
- This source is my most useful source because it gives framework for all the different training aspects involved. The information is reliable and is less opinionated compared to some of my other sources. The source is objective, as it was wrote with the goal of teaching students about the topic.
- I believe this source fits my topic and was very helpful to me. It provides information and statistics concerning every area involved to train and develop your employees. I realized how big of a topic this is because of this source.
